Book Review by Oluremi Ladeji
About three years ago I embarked on a mission trip to Mexico. I was surprised by the barrages of side talks, sinister comments, criticisms and comments; some positive and others not so positive. Most of the negative comments centered on why we (Christians) have to leave the United States of America to help other folks when millions of children and women next door have desperate needs. This subtle pandemonium, many times of a taciturn nature, have sent tongues wagging in the pulpit, and put many mission pastors on the witness-stand. Above all, the subtle pandemonium generated more questions than answers.
The mission trip panorama is a microcosm of many vexes and extreme differences expressed in some churches today. The interesting feature is that these differences are non-antagonistic differences and are expressions of an individual’s “Holy Discontent!”
What is it that motivates people to work where they work, volunteer their time to the groups they serve, and donate money to the causes they support?” . . . click here to read more
THE MANNA
“If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.” 1 John 4:20-21 NASB
