If you asked me, at the age of 19, where I’d be today, I probably would have said I’d be a wealthy business owner, running a successful contracting business in Nassau.
I wouldn’t have considered that the youngest child of a Bahamian family of 11 siblings; a child who was familiar with hunger, would one day be responsible for feeding God’s people with His Word. I wouldn’t have believed that a young man who turned to the streets for solace and was never interested in school would one day hold his doctorate. I never would have thought that a young man who was trained on the streets to pursue women would one day be the devoted husband of one wife and the loving father of four children. I never would have imagined that one day, in the middle of a club God would stop me, dead in my tracks and call me into a relationship with him. But then again, how many of us had a vision for our life that accurately lined up with God’s vision? God’s plan for our life often looks very different than our own. My life is proof of this truth.
As senior pastor of NDCBF, I want to challenge others to see themselves from Christ’s perspective. When we encounter the one, true, Holy God, our life is never the same. I invite you to journey with NDCBF as we authentically pursue being true disciples of Christ and making disciples of others. Sure your life will look a lot different than you imagined it, but “eyes have not seen, nor ears have heard, nor mind conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”

North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship is a church committed to making disciples, solid biblical teaching, and strengthening families in Christ. Pastor Dames is a bible teacher and expositor who specializes in theology, apologetics, family mission and bibliology. He holds a Bachelors’ degree in Leadership from the College of Biblical Studies, a Masters of Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Masters of Biblical Theology from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a PhD in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. Pastor Dames and his wife, Stacy, have 4 children, Adoniah, Nathaniel, Daniel, and Nehemiah.
