What is VBS?

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a fun-filled spiritual adventure that focuses on Bible study and life application for the entire family including adults, youth, and children.  VBS will kick-off with a Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 10th at 1:30pm. Vacation Bible School is Monday-Thursday. We begin at 6:30 p.m. each evening and children are dismissed at 8:30 p.m. each evening.

Help make VBS successful by volunteering your time and skills! Volunteer sign-up coming soon!

Below are brief descriptions of volunteer opportunities:

Worship/Music Team Be comfortable ministering in front of groups; be willing to use enthusiasm & expression to facilitate worship through music and dance
Arts Team Prepare materials for art and/or craft projects; setup area; ability to demonstrate task & give clear instructions; assist students with activity; and clean up area and materials.
Snacks Team Set up tables/serving area; clean the server/Kitchen/food areas; ensure all children and leaders have been served in a timely manner & with a smile; report # of persons served; clean up serving area
Event Capturing Team Use video and still pictures to capture and document the event; most move from station to station; must have own equipment
Childcare Team Provide a mini-VBS program for children (under the age of 4) of volunteers serving during VBS
Bible Study/Storytelling Team Using the provided daily lesson creatively tell the story of the day, connect the lesson to the Gospel message, answer questions regarding the lesson and/or Gospel message
Games Team Willing to work outside; ability to provide clear instructions for outside games/activities; and direct games for children of varying ages
Decorations Team Assist with transforming the space into a visually appealing environment surrounding the theme
Registration Team Warmly greet children & parents with a smile; ensure that the CM check-in & checkout processes run efficiently; have working knowledge of event schedule; provide information to visitors, parents, servants; and assist with dismissal process
Bake Sale Team Prepare and package individual baked goods; select and create presentation of baked goods; display baked goods; price the baked goods; and assist with selling baked goods
Safety Team Ensure a safe environment; direct parents and children according to traffic flow; monitor and restrict entry/exit points; confirm parent and child’s badge match at pickup; kindly redirect students, parents, servants and visitors to appropriate locations
VBS Family Fun Day-Game Attendant Monitor Games (i.e. bounce house)
VBS Family Fun Day-Cooks Cook food for Family Fun Day event (hotdogs, hamburgers etc.)
VBS Family Fun Day-Food Servers Assist in serving food and drinks
VBS Family Fun Day-Water Monitor Keep bottled water and ice containers filled. 
VBS Family Fun Day-Clean-up Crew Keep area clean by picking up trash, emptying trash cans throughout the event and assist in cleaning off tables.
VBS Family Fun Day-Setup Crew Assist in setting up all equipment for event including chairs, tables, tents, game stations, food area, and ice & water containers. 
VBS Family Fun Day-Face Painter Paint simple designs on children
VBS Family Fun Day-First Aid Station Promptly attend to accidents and injuries that may occur during the event.


Sign up for the Bake Sale!

Along with VBS preparation comes the VBS Bale Sale! This year we will host our VBS Bake Sale on Sunday, May 27th after our 8:30am & 11:15am services. Many of you have baking skills and we would love you to share them with the church body here at NDCBF. Our Annual VBS Bake Sale is our only fundraiser to help off-set cost for VBS. We are asking for donations such as cookies, muffins, cakes, pies, cupcakes etc. 

Baked goods can be delivered on the morning of Sunday, May 27th by 7:30am. If you are planning to bring a treat:

  • Fill out the form below and let us know what you plan to bring
  • Individually wrap your items (i.e. cookies, sliced cake)
  • Label if the recipe contains nuts for allergy concerns
  • Deliver your treats in a disposable container or be sure to label your container and pick it up after the bake sale
